I HAVE MISSED YOU and It’s a happy feeling to be going back to what I know so well and has been so good to me over the years. Though I must admit, I have a confession to make. I have cheated. It was only for a few months but what months of bliss. And even with my intention of a quick fling I think we both know was secretly searching for more. How could I, you ask? How could I leave you like this? I know, I don’t have history like I do with you. But I always saw history as something to learn from, not meant to be repeated. “You two are so different” you may say, “It will never last”. You may be right, we are different, but my heart and imagination have been set on FIRE and boy, a fire like that doesn’t just burn out that quick. I promise we will still be friends, I you will always be a part of my life and I will be forever grateful to everything you have given me, but I have found something new, something exciting , gut wrenching, heart pounding, climatic! Something that makes me happy. Don’t make this more difficult than it needs to be, You will always be a love of mine, and maybe in the future I will come back to stay. I come back to you know, but don’t get use to me; I will be gone soon enough.
LAST DAY IN CHINA!!!!! It’s sad but true. My days have turned to mere hours and by this time tomorrow I will be on American soil. Although it’s probably more like sand than soil since I will be saying “Aloha!” in Hawaii!!!! I’m really looking forward to all the cool stuff I can do back in America. I’m going to get to surf, scuba dive, hula dance and lay on white sandy beaches. There will be drinks with little umbrellas and wonderful hikes to explore! Not to mention other little gems such being able to talk to locals and ordering food that we actually recognize! (BIG shout out to my vegetarian friend I have made on this trip and let me just say that I am SO happy I wasn’t you for many of these meals)
This was a decent last day though. I would have loved to have seen more of Beijing but at least I felt well enough to go out today and that’s all I can really ask for on my last day. But seriously, I know I’m leaving tomorrow but China has not seen the last of me. I will be back seeking all the beautiful things and people I have met and looking for all the new ones I have yet to discover . BEIJING IS NOT MY FRIEND. I’m sick… again. This would be day three of my sickness and I’m so pissed. I have a stuffy nose and a head ache, I’m achy all over and now I’m just lying in bed… under the covers… staring at my notes for my Political Science class. And you know what kills me? The WHOLE time we have been in Beijing it has been smoggy and gross outside but today, the day I am sick in bed, it is sunny and beautiful outside. YOU CAN SEE BLUE in the sky!! Which never happens here apparently. Except for the day I can’t go out … I can’t even pretend I’m not sick like normal. I just can’t. I’m going to sleep now. Hopefully, a. My final isn’t that hard because I can’t study properly, b. Its just as nice tomorrow because there is no way I’m staying home my LAST DAY IN CHINA (can you say AHHHH!) and c. I don’t die (that would suck
BORING DAY. I’ve been feeling a little under the weather recently so I set yesterday and today aside after class to rest up, catch up as homework and try to get better for tomorrow. Beijing will have to wait one more day. Sorry for lack of news but I think I may be dying… it’s very sad. (Totally Just kidding! Please nobody panic MOM)
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! Oh my gosh!! I can’t believe it!! So much going on its so bazar and kind of surreal. Holidays like this are always strange for me though because it’s a day almost like any other in the year but because it has this slight specialty it becomes a day in the year when I can think back and remember exactly what I was doing the year before, and even before that. For example, last year, I was trick or treating still with my sister and friend. Just collecting candy and going to get pizza afterwards. All I was worrying about was hitting the jackpot houses and making sure I didn’t trip on the skirt of my costume. I was never once imagining how different my next Halloween would be. This year I am in Beijing, China. Fighting a cold and costume less except for a poke-a-dot dress I picked up at H&M in Honk Kong. But not to fret! I can make due. You see, China doesn’t really celebrate Halloween, a few fiends found some clubs throwing “Western Holiday” parties. Costume parties, Barn Dances, etc. But besides that, October 31st is just another day. I really didn’t feel like going out, searching till all hours of the night, trying to find these select clubs and bars. Instead, my roommate Hiba and I got dolled up in our dresses and had us a “scary” night in. We watched Sherlock, Hounds of Baskerville while stuffing our faces with Snickers, Cookies, Moon Pies and other Sweet breads from a bakery around the corner. (It was a nice spread if I do say so myself) I even said trick or treat when I was buying the cookies earlier today... Good thing the woman couldn’t understand me anyways.
