Lets start with this, I dont think I have ever sweat more in my life. it is so hot and humid here!!! And this is winter here!!! Walking really is the best and cheepest way to get around but unfortunately this means we have to endure thw blistering heat. This really applies to all hot places, but if you are like me and over heat easily make sure you follow these tips to keep your trip safe and fun!
1) Drink ALL THE WATER!!!! Make sure you drink tons and tons of water. starting before your trip will help ensure proper hydration. but make sure especially during your trip you drink drink drink! I can't emphasize this enough. On this trip I've been walking around with a huge water bottle everywhere I go. It may be annoying to carry but its so worth it.
2) Remember that although soda or juice might taist better or feel more refreshing, neither do as well as plain water. If that is available, always choose the water.
3) If you are going to be outside a lot be sure to take breaks from being in direct sunlight. Especially in places that are so close to the equator, the sun is strong and will drain you. Every so often just go into air conditioned places. Whether its a shop or your room or wherever, resting until you are cooled down is so important to remember.
I know its hard to follow some of these guidlines sometimes. Whether its because of where you are or what you're doing, but these types of guidlinea are well worth keeping. I can't tell you how much water I have been drinking and how many breaks in the shade I find myself taking. And sometimes its still doesnt feel like enough.
